Scandinavian trials underline DEKALB reliability 12-Aug-2016

The UK’s leading DEKALB hybrids have underlined their superior reliability across a broad range of conditions by out-performing all other varieties in challenging growing seasons in both Sweden and Denmark, reveal the countries’ official trials.

Averaged across the first three Swedish trial sites harvested, three DK hybrids with strong UK connections topped the 33-variety field, yielding 120% or more of controls

Heading the pack with a relative yield of 125% was DK Explicit, followed by DK Extrovert at 124% and DK Exentiel at 121% (Figure 1).

The fourth highest performer was also a DK hybrid – although not available in the UK – with sixth and seventh places on the leader board taken by DK Exstorm and V316OL.

Not included in the Swedish trials set, DK Exalte and DK Exception also showed their all-round strengths by topping independent Danish trials run under farm regimes with the country’s most popular varieties, delivering yields of 109% and 106% of controls respectively (Figure 2).

In addition, DEKALB varieties took fourth and sixth places in the trial series.
